K V Thomas MP said that the stance adopted by Congress leader P T Thomas during the Parliament election was right. He was speaking at a function organised to commemorate C M Stephen on the occasion of his 31st death anniversary, in Kochi on Thursday.
On the occasion, K V Thomas handed over the C M Stephan Memorial Award to P T Thomas. In the absence of KPCC president V M Sudheeran, the function was inaugurated by K V Thomas. Hibi Eden MLA presided over the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, P T Thomas said that political leaders should study the environmental issues and take initiatives for environmental conservation.
He opined that political leaders should create awareness among the public on the importance of environment, and suggest measures for its conservation. Mayor Tony Chammany, V J Paulose, Ajay Tharayil, K K Ibrahim Kutty, T K Rameshan, C A Vijaychandran, K K Thirumanni and B Rajeendran Pillai also spoke on the occasion.
